The MCAO Instrument Adaptor
The MCAO telescope will host an Andor Ikon XL back illuminated CCD camera, a Shelyak System 2 Eschelle spectrograph, and an eyepiece for viewing. This is a tricky arrangement, given the limited space available with the f/4 telescope. DFM is designing a custom multi-instrument adapter to accommodate the instruments.

These pictures show the current progress with the MIA. The Siebert eyepiece mount, the spectrograph fiber feed unit, and the filter changer (the rectangular aluminum box) are shown. The camera is simulated by the aluminum cylinder. The MIA currently weighs about 85 lbs.
